Australian Cattle Dog Puppies For Sale!

About The Breed

The Australian Cattle Dog is characterized by its compact and muscular frame. They are born white, but their coat turns blue-gray or red with a distinct speckled or mottled pattern. Their coat is double layered to protect them from the elements. Their coats only need an occasional brushing.
This breed of dog is energetic, smart, and always alert. They need a great deal of regular work or exercise to give them enough stimulation to keep them from getting bored.

Origin
The Australian Cattle dog appeared in the early 1800s when Europeans began to settle the Australian Continent. The breed derived from a few other breeds crossed with the wild Australian Dingo. Their aptitude for working cattle was recognized early and they became a hardworking and loyal companion for the early Australian cattle ranchers. This breed is also known as the Blue Heeler or the Queensland Heeler.
